Stari Most ("Old Bridge") images by Josh and Yaz Dolin.
When faced with the decision of which southeastern European country to visit, most travellers I know preferred the delights of Croatia (sailing!), Montenegro (the high life!), or Greece (Island parties!) over war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina. And I was definitely one of them. But after following my good friends Josh and Yaz's escapades there, I think I may have to reconsider. Our Monday Inspiration photo is of Stari Most (Old Bridge) in Herzegovina, a reconstruction of a 16th century Ottoman bridge that crosses the river Neretva, connecting two parts of the city. It had stood for 427 years until it was destroyed in 1993 by Bosniaan Croat forces during the Bosnian-Croat war.
Have you ever visited Bosnia and Herzegovina? Would you?
