Inspired by Jen from Jenlittlebirdie, we've decided to take part in '52 Weeks of Happy', where we post up every Tuesday four little things that make us happy. While these may include new pretty purchases (how could it not?), the main focus is on the little things - a cup of coffee, a walk through the park, the smell of mulled wine, bumping into an old friend...all these small things may not seem much, but when you're given the chance to reflect, they're actually the things that can bring you the most happiness. And studies have shown that actively reflecting on the things that you're grateful for is beneficial for boosting your mood and mental health.
So this is our first week. Here are our four happy-making pics:
1) Sending out Mora orders for Christmas gifts
We've been getting a few orders where we've been writing the Christmas cards for the sender. The notes they've gotten us to write to the lucky recipients are so lovely!
2) Festive signage
In fact, the festive spirit in general! I'm loving seeing lots of gorgeous signage advertising Christmas markets and events.
3) Writing Christmas Cards
The ultimate activity to help you realise how lucky you are to have such a great family and so many nice friends. If you don't intend on sending Christmas cards this year, how about sending a lovely e-card? Just the act of writing to all your friends will put you in a great mood!
4) Amsterdam Street Art
There's this one street near De Pijp that is just filled with bold street art - not the gross kind that makes you feel like you're going to get stabbed - the kind that makes you feel uber-cool simply because you're in the vicinity of such great street art. The skull and the heart are my favourites. I love that the bike matches the skull's colours in the photo - as if it was designed to be parked there.
What things are making you happy this week?
