Well I'm a day late with the Sunday Link Love...But all that means is you get to run through the best of the interwebs on your designated net surf break! It's been a busy time at Mora HQ - lots of change is happening, and we've received some great news, which we're keeping under wraps at the moment (all will be revealed soon!). Now onto the links!
♥ An insiders guide to the eye makeup looks on Mad Men. It's really all about Joan, is it not? (via The Cut)
♥ Could this be the perfect Spring salad? Asparagus and quinoa and lentils, oh my! (Via Coffee and Sunshine)
♥ Working from home can be quite quiet. Often I play music, but I find it can be too distracting (always changing songs, searching for new ones, impromptu dance parties). Then I discovered Coffivity - it plays ambient cafe sounds, so I feel like I'm in a hip cafe, without the hipsters. Try it! (Via Coffivity)
Bon weekend guys! Hope you've been relaxing and/or blowing off a little steam. I've been meeting up with old friends, attending some really inspiring business courses at the Creative Startups Showcase in Somerset House and making grand plans. Overall a really great weekend so far.
Here's some link love to help you while away a very chilly Sunday:
♥ Rebecca Harrington of The Cut has been trying the diets of golden-era celebrities like Greta Garbo and Marilyn Monroe (who used to drink two raw eggs in milk for breakfast). Here's her Elizabeth Taylor diet, which involved steak covered in peanut butter and dry toast. Delicious.
♥ Genius! This $10 Ikea hack is so charming and personal. (via Ikea Hackers)
♥ Ok that's it. I'm off to make these awesome DIY faceted clay rings right now. (via Poppytalk)
♥ Yesterday at the Creative Startups Showcase I had the pleasure of trying some of Shakespeare's Sauces. They're cooking sauces based on Elizabethan recipes and they are just delicious. They're yet to be launched, so keep an eye out and when you get a chance, try 'The World's Mine Oyster Sauce' - it's incredible.
♥ Spring is a lie. It's still freezing here. So I'm planning to make these roasted vegetables with a lemon caper vinaigrette. (via Apartment Dining)
♥ I am totally taken by this blog - An American in Itay - where a former Nashville professional retired from her job and moved to Florence. She updates frequently with all the things she does there - the good (going to a gajillion art exhibitions, eating delicious food, drinking incredible cioccolatas) and the not so good (bureaucracy and more bureaucracy). So inspired! (Via An American in Italy).
♥ So people who don't like carbs/eating paleo are subsituting it with grated cauliflower. I don't know how I feel about this. But that's probably because I'm half Asian and rice is my everything. Maybe I'll try it one day when I weigh myself and cry. (via Everyday Maven)
♥ The Tutor Crowd took to the streets to grammatically correct all the mispelled graffiti. Such a clever (and necessary) campaign. (Via Fastcocreate)
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope you're donned in green somewhere having lots of fun! And if you have an hour or two to spare, here's a festive round up of great links from all around the interwebs. Make yourself a cup of (green) tea and dive in!
♥ Ever thought about visiting Amsterdam? Read my guide to my favourite European city on Yes and Yes! (via Yes and Yes)
♥ Having been to Cuba this little retrospective travelogue definitely brought back vivid memories. Unlike the author I did dance the salsa with a local and let me tell you, you've never danced your entire life until you've danced with a Cuban. (via The Hairpin)
♥ There is nothing I want to do more than to spend a night in a Scottish Castle. (via Eat Love Savor)
♥ Except maybe perhaps stay in an Irish Castle (via Authentic Ireland).
♥ Here's a luxury apocalypse bunker in the US that I think I want to move into now, apocalypse or no. (via House to Home)
♥ Loving this idea for a memento headboard - so cute and easy to refresh! (via Refinery 29)
♥ If you use an RSS reader, then you might be mourning the news that Google has retired Google Reader. Well here's an alternative reader that's prettier! (via sf girl by bay)
♥ A guide to presenting food as decoration. Oh how I do love a good apple display. (via Eat Love Savor)
♥ This recycled art by Renaud Delorme is green, graphic, and great! (via Wowzine)
